On Saturday, April 13th , from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, the Davidson Land Conservancy and My Aloha Paddle Sports & Fitness will be jointly hosting this year’s PaddleFest at the Lake Davidson Nature Preserve, located behind Davidson Day School, 750 Jetton Street, Davidson, NC. The Lake Davidson Nature Preserve offers the only legal, public launch site for scenic, 320-acre Lake Davidson.
Kayakers, canoeists, paddle boarders and all other water-loving recreationists of all ages and ability levels are invited to join in the fun activities and learning experiences. Activities available for your enjoyment throughout the day will include:
- Introductory Kayak & Paddleboarding demonstrations
- Dragonboats & Clipper war canoes for you to try
- Storytelling
- Tours of the Preserve walking trail with Naturalist Reed Patterson
- Music throughout with groups such as Billy Jones and others
A limited number of kayaks and paddle boards will be available for introductory demonstrations. Those with their own boats or boards are encouraged to bring them and join in the activities. If you own a life jacket be sure to bring it as only a few “loaners’ will be available. Life jackets and waivers are a requirement for any on-the-water activities.” (Parent’s signature required for children under eighteen.)
There is no charge for any of the events, but donations to The Davidson Land Conservancy are encouraged. Click here to donate online.
