Kids and parents waded in the creek and discovered all kinds of life – dragonfly nymphs, damselfly nymphs, crayfish, mayfly nymphs, a frog, a leech, and aquatic worms. Most of us had no idea of the treasures in a seemingly lifeless handful of sand – until Cynthia Benes opened our eyes to the small wonders hiding there. We also used a Biotic Index to measure the health of Rocky River by taking inventory of everything we discovered. Thank you, Cynthia, for sharing your love of nature and knowledge of creek life with us!
