The full moon in May this year begins on May 3 at about 11:40 pm Eastern Daylight Time. The full moons each have a name associated with them and the moon in May is called the Flower Moon. It’s also been called Mother’s Moon, Milk Moon and Corn Planting Moon. Here’s a link to a page that tells the names of all the Full Moons throughout the year. http://www.almanac.com/content/full-moon-names
The moon phases also have names. Here’s a link to a chart that shows the phases of the moon for the coming month. With our warmer weather maybe you will get outside every night and check out the phase of the moon. http://www.almanac.com/moon/calendar/NC/Cornelius/2015-05
Hope you enjoy some Moon Gazing!
